Choose 2-in-1-out when you have two PV strings going to a single inverter. Choose 2-in-2-out when you have two PV strings going to two separate inverters, or when you want independent string isolation.
Yes. You can combine the two outputs externally. However, for a single inverter application, the 2-in-1-out model is more cost-effective.
