Any 48V lithium (LiFePO4) battery with CAN/RS485 BMS communication, or lead-acid batteries. The inverter supports battery voltages from 40V to 60V – covering all standard 48V battery systems. For lead-acid batteries, the battery temperature sensor is recommended.
Yes. The S6 series supports "PV only off grid mode" – the inverter can power loads directly from solar during the day (limited conditions apply). However, for full backup functionality and nighttime power, batteries are required.
